Task 1: Giving Advice

In this task, you need to give practical and supportive advice to someone facing a situation.

Template for Giving Advice

  1. Greet & Show Understanding
    • "Hey [Name], I heard about your situation, and I totally understand how challenging this must be."
    • "Hi [Name], I know you're trying to make a decision, and I'd love to help."
  2. Suggest a Solution
    • "I think the best approach is to [specific advice]."
    • "You might want to consider [alternative solution]."
  3. Justify Your Advice
    • "This would work well because [explanation or benefit]."
    • "In my experience, [personal or general example] has been really effective."
  4. Encourage & Close
    • "I'm sure you'll make the best choice! Let me know how it goes."
    • "Whatever you decide, I'm here to support you."

Example Scenario: Helping a Friend Pick a New Apartment

"Hey Sarah, I know you're struggling to decide between two apartments. I think you should go with the one closer to your workplace. This will save you time and money on commuting, and you'll have more energy for hobbies or socializing. I know moving is stressful, but I'm sure you'll love your new place once you settle in!"
